World Outreach

GlobeHandsWe believe God the Scriptures are very clear in calling us to make eternal impact on the nations of the world by being an missions-active church. For more information about our missions passion and strategy, see the Outreach and Growth section of our Philosophy of Ministry.

We desire to grow in our knowledge of world missions by seeking to become better informed about the Biblical basis for missions, the religious, cultural and political trends in the world and ways our fellowship can become involved in evangelism, discipleship and church planting in other cultures.

Our efforts to stay informed focus primarily on areas of missions where someone directly related to our church is presently serving or preparing to serve. Each Care Group is encouraged to adopt a missionary with whom they can regularly communicate and for whom they can pray and help in practical ways.

We also want to be a sending church and believe God will raise up from our fellowship those who will be effective cross-cultural missionaries for both short and long terms. Missionary families from Westside are already serving in different parts of the world as long-term missionaries.  We also send out individuals and teams to serve Christ in both short- and medium-term missions.

Westside has sent or "commended" (a biblical term used in Acts 14:26) the following missionary families to serve the Lord full-time in overseas or local missions:
